Social justice and Judaism. Rabbi and lawyer David Saperstein, whom Newsweek has called the country’s most influential rabbi, will lecture at a number of synagogues on the Peninsula, as well as the JCC in Foster City, on major issues facing American contemporary Judaism. The scholar-in-residence, who has led the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism for 30 years, will discuss a myriad of topics, including the traditions of social justice and political action in Jewish history and whether there can be a “just war.” Jan. 30-Feb. 11.
