The Israeli community Beit Tefilah Yisraeli, committed to Jewish spirit, culture and social action, has turned the Port of Tel Aviv into Israel’s hippest outdoor synagogue with its Kabbalat Shabbat experience. Musicians from the liberal, egalitarian urban group will combine poetry and music to explore the pioneering spirit of early kibbutz culture for a Bay Area audience. 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 at Contemporary Jewish Museum, 736 Mission St., S.F.
