Klezmer kraziness

The East Bay–based Ellis Island Old World Folk Band is busy this month: a klezmer dance workshop from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at the San Francisco Free Folk Festival; a coffeehouse gig from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 12 at Le Bateau Ivre near U.C. Berkeley; and a concert at 7 p.m. June 24 at the new Garden Gate Creativity Center in Berkeley.

“Omens, Dreams and Curses.” San Francisco Choral Artists and Veretski Pass perform psalm settings, lullabies, folk music in English, Hebrew, Ladino and Yiddish.
