Harmony through music
The Oakland East Bay Symphony will pay tribute to music of the Middle East, highlighting pieces by composers from the region and featuring musicians originating from Israel, Egypt and the West Bank. In “Notes from the Middle East,” Israeli piano soloist Eliran Avni will play Grieg’s Piano Concerto, the orchestra will perform Egyptian composer Daniel Alfred’s “The Nile Bride,” and Israeli-born American conductor Daniel Alfred Wachs will lead the orchestra in two pieces.
