Congregation Emanu-El’s board of directors on March 20 announced the appointment of Rabbi Beth Singer and Rabbi Jonathan Singer as the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Co-Senior Rabbis.
Chosen after a yearlong national search, the couple currently serve as co-senior rabbis at Temple Beth Am in Seattle, where they are credited with the congregation’s growth from 375 to 900 members.
Emanu-El, which has 2,080 member families, is the largest Reform synagogue in Northern California.
The Singers were ordained by Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion in 1989. They are married and have three children.
