Musical tribute
After his partner died of AIDS, composer Ricky Ian Gordon (above) set out to write a piece of music that would help him come to terms with his loss. His 2008 mini-opera “Green Sneakers,” which Gordon descibes as a Kaddish for his partner, will make its West Coast debut with the Alexander String Quartet and baritone soloist Jesse Blumberg.
