The S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation took in $814,000 during its annual Super Sunday pledge drive this year. Held Jan. 27 at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, the event drew 200 volunteers, who called prospective federation donors soliciting pledges.
Federation chief development office Joe Levin said Super Sunday 2013 reaped a 60 percent increase in the number of financial gifts pledged over last year, and a 50 percent increase in dollars raised. The money helps the federation meet its annual campaign target of $18 million for the fiscal year ending June 30.
A follow-up Super Sunday event will take place in the South Bay sometime in the spring.
