Applications are currently being accepted for summer and fall fellowships at Urban Adamah in Berkeley and the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center in Falls Village, Conn. The three-month-long residential programs integrate organic farming, community building and leadership development in a Jewish environment.
Urban Adamah is an organic farm and environmental education center on Parker Street in West Berkeley. Its summer fellowship is from June 9 to Aug. 30; the fall fellowship is from Sept. 9 to Nov. 22. Fellows must be between 21 and 31 years old. Applications are accepted and processed on a rolling basis.
A 400-acre sanctuary in the Berkshires, the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center announced in December a merger with Hazon. The new organization will be called Hazon, with headquarters in Falls Village and New York City. Hazon’s San Francisco office will remain open. Urban Adamah in Berkeley is a sister program of the Isabella Freedman retreat center.
