When ‘Shalom’ meets ‘Hallelujah!’

To celebrate the spiritual side of the season, Vocolot, the women’s a cappella group that sings world and Jewish music in English, Hebrew, Ladino, Yiddish and Arabic, will perform with the Stars of Glory, an African-American gospel women’s group from Richmond. The event, presented by former Bay Area journalist Bill Schechner, is in its second year; and as was the case last year, dancing in the aisles is encouraged.

7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4 at JCC East Bay, 1414 Walnut St., Berkeley. $9-$11.

“Hardly Strictly Klezmer.” Concert with Bay Area klezmer bands the Red Hot Chachkas, Kugelplex and Charming Hostess. At Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse, 2020 Addison St., Berkeley. 8 p.m. $20.50-$22.50.

Broadway sing-along. Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Sondheim, and Lerner and Loewe. At JCC of San Francisco, 3200 California St., S.F. 8 p.m. $15-$30.
