In 2010, Tehiyah parent (and then board president) Adam Mizock tackled the personal challenge of running a marathon to raise funds for Tehiyah Day School. Adam’s leadership inspired the establishment of the Run for Tehiyah, a now annual event that raises funds for Tehiyah’s eighth-grade trip to Israel.
Training has already begun for the Run for Tehiyah on March 24, 2013. Participants will choose to be part of a marathon relay team or to run an individual 5K. The group welcomes new runners to join them on Sunday mornings at tracks and trails around the East Bay.
These fun outings further the school’s goal of promoting a fit and healthy lifestyle while inspiring individuals to work toward a common and meaningful goal. The Israel Education Fund ensures that all eighth-graders can participate in the school’s culminating journey to Israel.
The wider Bay Area Jewish community is invited to support their efforts through the Run for Tehiyah website: http://tehiyah.givezooks.com/grassroots_fundraisers/the-run-for-tehiyah-2013.
