A Kassam rocket struck Israel on Oct. 9, a day after more than 50 rockets and mortars were fired from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel.
The rockets damaged an apartment building and killed several animals in a petting zoo.
During the Gaza rocket attack, residents of three communities in southern Israel were instructed to remain within 15 seconds of a safe room or shelter. Children were not in school due to the Simchat Torah holiday.
Hamas claimed responsibility for the attacks, saying it was in response to Israel’s strike.
