Some romantic evening

The San Francisco Symphony opens the season with Romantic expressiveness as two guests — the Israeli-born violinist Pinchas Zukerman and the Jewish émigré from St. Petersburg Semyon Bychkov — lead the symphony in performances of Wagner, Bruch and Tchaikovsky. Born in Tel Aviv, Zukerman is a world-renowned performer with two Grammys and 21 Grammy nominations. Bychkov has toured the world and holds several distinguished positions, including the recently awarded conducting chair of the BBC Symphony Orchestra. With masters such as these in the driver’s seat, the symphony’s season promises a vivace start.
