Two Jewish brothers and a sister who were severely injured in a horrific head-on car crash last July — in which both their parents were killed instantly — arrived in the Bay Area last week to visit their cousins and spend a few days at Slide Ranch Camp.
Slide Ranch is a nonprofit organization that uses its historic farm site to teach Bay Area residents about the human connection to the natural world.
SummerAde, a program that pairs teen mentors with special-needs children so they can attend summer camps, provided two mentors each day to be with the boys.
Last summer, the news of the crash on July 2, 2011 devastated Jews around the country and in the Houston Jewish community in particular.
The Jewish community has stepped up to provide assistance through the Joshua and Robin Berry Children’s Trust. For more information, visit http://www.facebook.com/BerryChildren.
