Facebook acquires Israeli

Facebook acquired, a 3-year-old Israeli company that specializes in facial recognition software.

The terms of the deal between Facebook, headquartered in Silicon Valley, and were not disclosed by either company, according to the New York Times, which reported the deal June 18. has been used by Facebook in the past two years for its “tag” feature to identify individuals across Facebook.
