Stylin’ pianist

Russian-born Israeli pianist Yoni Levyatov is known for his prowess as a musician — he burst onto the music scene in 2005 when he won the Dora Zaslavsky Koch Piano Competition — as well as for his personal flair. He will perform works by Bach, Schumann, Prokofiev and Chopin in San Jose in a benefit for the American Red Cross Silicon Valley chapter.

7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 3 at Le Petit Trianon Theater, 72 N. Fifth St., San Jose. $25-$50.


“Voices of Jewish Women in American Theater.” Actress and singer Alicia von Kugelgen performs. Benefit for Oakland Ruach chapter of Hadassah. At Clubhouse of the Park Bellevue Tower, 565 Bellevue Ave., Oakland. 2 p.m. $100. 

East Bay Jewish choral festival. Choirs of Temple Isaiah, Congregation B’nai Shalom and Congregation B’nai Tikvah perform. At Temple Isaiah, 3800 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette. 2 p.m. Free.
