HIAS head Gideon Aronoff resigns

Citing personal reasons, HIAS chief executive officer Gideon Aronoff is resigning.
Aronoff, who has served as president and CEO of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society for the past six years, made the announcement in a May 16 letter to friends.
HIAS announced that Mark Hetfield, senior vice president for policy and programs, will serve as interim president and CEO while the organization searches for a permanent replacement for Aronoff.
The resignation will take effect on May 31. — jta
