Judith Kohn Endelman
Passed away peacefully after a 12-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Raised in Manhattan, Judy remained a New Yorker at heart, though she raised her children in the suburbs, where she worked in social services, and moved with her husband to California 30 years ago to join their two adult children.
Judy was a true lady who was proud of being a Hunter College graduate and of her family heritage, which included several rabbis. She loved art, good food and dogs, and her sense of humor survived for many years into her dementia.
She is mourned by her son William Endelman (Dee) and her daughter Janet Endelman (Marshall Newman), by her two granddaughters, Elise Endelman and Rebecca “Lee” Newman, and by her four nieces and nephews (Susan Poretz, Jon Gabel, Carol Berlin and David Gabel). She was predeceased by her husband, Berney, and by her beloved sister, Louise Gabel.
Thanks to Rhoda Goldman Plaza for 7 years of excellent dementia care. Donations can be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, the SF/SPCA or the charity of your choice.
The death notice for Betty Rosenblatt in the May 18 issue of j. omitted that the deceased is survived by her husband, Martin Rosenblatt.
