Hazon is taking its Jewish food conference to a higher altitude with its first mile-high summit, the daylong Rocky Mountain Jewish Food Summit on April 29. The University of Colorado will host the event at its University Memorial Center.

This is a one-day event as opposed to the popular Hazon Food Conferences, held once or twice a year since 2006 in Connecticut and several spots in Northern California. The next conference is slated for Dec. 6 to 9 in Connecticut, with the one after that planned for the summer of 2013 at U.C. Davis (where it was held in 2011).

For the Rocky Mountain Summit, which will run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the cost is $50 with pre-registration. Discounts are available for seniors, children and students. For more information, visit www.hazon.org.
