A series of Jewish studies programs for adults is coming to Tiburon in 2012.

“Five Courses in Five Days: The Great Jewish Experience” will run in two slightly different sessions, one starting on Jan. 22 and another on March 11. Class titles include “Middle East at the Crossroads,” “400 Years of the History of Jews in America,” “Jews ’n’ Jazz: Who Got Rhythm and How!” and “Dynamic Jewish Film Directors.”

The courses are run by Road Scholar, which is the new name for programs developed and offered by Elderhostel. Sponsored by Bay Area Classic Learning, the classes will be held at the Lodge at Tiburon.

Each program costs $515, which includes classes, meals, entertainment and field trips to Congregation Emanu-El and the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco. There is a higher price if overnight accommodations are needed.
