“How Silicon Valley Gives Back” is the title of an upcoming panel being presented, in part, by the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation’s Business Leadership Council.
The panelists will examine how rising entrepreneurial stars in Silicon Valley embrace social causes and startup ventures. A flyer for the event notes that Internet entrepreneurs “have generous philanthropic sensibilities and a knack for knowing the next successful venture.”
The panelists, including Mark Jacobstein, a vice president at Qualcomm iSkoot Technologies, are expected to address their philosophies on giving, investing and what it will take to get their attention. The event is presented by the BLC in partnership with the Silicon Valley Association of Startup Entrepreneurs.
The event is slated for 6 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the law offices of Cooley LLP, 3175 Hanover St., Palo Alto. Tickets are $30 for donors to the JCF and $59 for nondonors, with a $10 discount if purchased in advance. For information, visit www.jewishfed.org/blc or call (415) 369-2875.
