“Daniel was a terrific violinist and mandolin player, and wherever he would go around the world in journalism, he’d find musicians to work with,” said Gill. “One of the ways his family and friends love to remember him is through music.”

The Oct. 23 lineup includes Vocolot, a women’s a cappella ensemble; Rivka Amado, singing Ladino and Sephardic music; the bluegrass group Gerry Tenney & the Lost Tribe; Michael Tobin, a San Francisco-based singer/songwriter who composed songs with Pearl; and others Temple Isaiah is at, 3800 Mount Diablo Blvd., Lafayette.
