East Bay Shorts Adults’ Torah class will begin in Berkeley Aug. 17

Class cost is a $90 sliding scale donation. Luncheons are $10 to$15 each. The synagogue is located at 1630 Bancroft Way, Berkeley. For information, call (510) 843-5246.
Alameda synagogue offering free schooling to non-members
Temple Israel, a Reform congregation in Alameda, is offering religious school enrollment to non-members for one year. Afterwards, children may continue if their families become members.
Classes for preschool through grade seven, and Hebrew school for grades four through seven, will take place on Sunday mornings beginning Sept. 14 at 3183 Mecartney Road. For information, call (510) 522-9355.
