To mark its 30th anniversary of annual fundraisers, the Reutlinger Community for Jewish Living in Danville is planning a special cabaret and cocktail show featuring Broadway and television star Tovah Feldshuh.
The Nov. 12 event at Berkeley’s Claremont Hotel, titled “Supper Club Gold” and open to the public, hopes to raise money to strengthen programs and services at the home, which offers four levels of senior living.
Feldshuh, 58, is a two-time Emmy Award nominee, for her work in “Law & Order” in 2003 and for her role in the 1978 miniseries “Holocaust.” She is also a four-time Tony Award nominee, including a 1976 nomination for best actress in “Yentl.”
She has traveled the globe with her one-woman show, “Tovah: Out of My Mind!” — which is what she’ll be performing for the Reutlinger fundraiser. It includes comedy, singing and dancing.
“We chose Tovah because she has such a strong passion for supporting Jewish organizations like ours,” said Janice Corran, executive director of Reutlinger. “As a strong supporter of elder programs and Israel, we feel that bringing in Tovah is a great way to spread the love and giving hand of the Jewish people.”
Tickets start at $125 and will include cocktails, gourmet tapas and desserts. Corran is hoping to fill the Claremont Hotel space to capacity, which is about 350 people.
The event will be at night, but the exact time hasn’t been set yet. Check for updates or order tickets at www.rcjl.org or by calling (925) 964-2063.
