The deadline is nearing for a challenge grant that could raise $300,000 needed to complete construction of the new home for Hillel at Davis and Sacramento.

At the April 3 groundbreaking for the 9,500-square-foot building, S.F. entrepreneur Joseph Pedott said he would donate $100,000 if Hillel could raise $200,000. To date, Hillel has collected $150,000 toward the challenge. Hillel is seeking the final $50,000 by April 30 to fulfill the match.

Pedott, who provided seed money in 1967 for the Davis Hillel, has donated $500,000 more to the current capital campaign.

Gifts may be sent to Hillel, 328 A St., Davis, CA 95616, or online at www.

hillelhouse.org/donate.html. Personally inscribed pavers that will be placed outside the building may be purchased. For more information, visit www.hillelhouse.org or contact Chani Oppenheim at (530) 756-3708 or [email protected].
