Seniors in Marin are invited to join a six-week book group beginning

Jan. 14, when they will receive two books to read and discuss. One explores the tumult of Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, while the other focuses on a newly independent Israel.

The group will meet Fridays from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. through Feb. 18 at the Mill Valley Recreation Center, 180 Camino Alto. Adrian McIntyre, an archaeologist, educator and journalist in Oakland, will lead the group.

Small Press Distribution, a Berkeley-based literary arts organization, and Engage As You Age, which connects creative people with homebound seniors, are sponsoring the sessions.

Interested seniors can sign up by calling (415) 690-6944.
