Palestinians `jealous’ of Israeli democracy

"Everybody says that in Israel there is democracy, and everyone feels jealous of this democracy," says Ahmed Qurie, speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council.
A leading Palestinian journalist -- who asked not to be identified because "I don't want to spend the summer in Jericho jail" -- said that "if we compare Israel to Palestinian democracy, Israel appears very democratic."
