Submissions are invited for a book about handmade Jewish fabric crafts, created with spiritual inspiration.

“Jewish Threads: Hands-on Jewish Fabric Crafts” will feature projects such as sewn and knitted prayer shawls, embroidered tallit and tefillin bags, crocheted yarmulkes and embroidered Torah covers.

Artists may submit a story about the handcrafted ritual pieces, along with photos, step-by-step instructions and a brief bio.

Diana Drew, who worked on a handcrafted quilted Jewish wedding canopy as a project for the National Council of Jewish Women, is putting the book together. Materials should be e-mailed to [email protected] by Oct. 1.
