The second annual Jewish Appreciation Day with the San Jose Giants minor league baseball team is scheduled for July 25 at 5 p.m.

Jewish organizations and South Bay congregations from a wide range of denominations are coming together to make the event happen. Oakland Kosher Foods will be providing meals for a tailgate party in the parking lot starting at 3:30 p.m.

The Class-A California League game between San Jose and the High Desert Mavericks will take place at cozy and historic Municipal Stadium, 588 East Alma Ave., San Jose.  Jewish-themed contests will be held between innings.

Specially priced $5 tickets (as well as kosher meal packs) need to be purchased online at http://www.jewishgiants.com.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco Giants’ sixth annual Jewish Heritage Night is scheduled for Aug. 31 against the Colorado Rockies. Tickets are $20 to $25. For more information, visit http://www.sfgiants.com and click on “special events calendar” on the tickets page.
