Jewish philanthropist Joan Arnow died July 6 following a long bout with melanoma. She was 80.

Arnow, who lived in the Scarsdale, N.Y., supported a number of diverse projects, many of them Jewish. Along with her husband, Robert, Arnow was a major supporter of the UJA–Federation of New York, according to the New York Jewish Week. Robert Arnow is on the JTA’s board.
