“We Con the World” was removed from YouTube over a copyright claim by Warner/Chappell Music, Inc.
The parody, which drew 3 million hits, made fun of world reaction to the May 31 flotilla incident. The song was created by Latma, a rightist Israeli group that produces political satire in Hebrew and sometimes in English.
Israel’s Government Press Office circulated and then recalled the link with a message saying that the video was not intended to be released, and that the contents do not represent the official policy of the state or the press office. — jta
