Shop like the Israelis at ‘Sheinkin Street shuk’

From hand-painted tallit to ceramic Havdallah sets, functional Jewish art will be for sale at the Sheinkin Street shuk, a colorful Israeli-style outdoor marketplace.

Nearly two dozen booths will display crafts and Judaica —  some made close to home in San Francisco, such as the designs of metalsmith Aimee Golant, others from as far away as  Israel and Ethiopia, where the North American Conference on Ethiopian Jews will feature challah covers, tallit bags and pillow covers depicting scenes of Jewish village life in Africa.

There also will be knit kippahs, handcrafted jewelry and Hebrew books. There even will be a henna lounge (for tattoos).

The Sheinkin Street shuk, named after the popular open-air market in Tel Aviv, is located on the upper terrace above the main stage.
