An Israeli newspaper says one of its investigative reporters has returned the classified documents he received from a military whistleblower.
Ha’aretz reported on May 4 that Uri Blau agreed to hand over the secret documents to authorities after his source waived her right to confidentiality.
The source, Anat Kamm, has been under house arrest since December for leaking documents she copied several years ago when she was a soldier. She has been charged with aggravated espionage.
Blau cited the material in a story accusing the military of killing Palestinian militants in violation of an Israeli Supreme Court ruling.
He has remained in London throughout the affair. Ha’aretz says his lawyers are negotiating his return to Israel. — ap
