Israel’s 2010 population passes 7.5 million

Israel’s population is now 7,577,000, according to data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics on April 18. In 1948, the population was 806,000.
Seventy-five percent of Israel’s residents are Jews, while 20.5 percent are Arabs.
During the past year, 159,000 babies were born; 25,000 immigrants and Israelis living abroad arrived in the country, while 10,000 Israelis left. — jpost.com
