The 13th annual International Association of Yiddish Clubs conference, titled “Yiddish Around the World,” will take place April 23 to 26 on the Peninsula. Dozens of presenters and hundreds of Yiddish lovers are expected to attend the event at the Westin Hotel, 1 Old Bayshore Highway, Millbrae.
Co-sponsored by KlezCalifornia, the conference will include entertainment, classes, lectures and Shabbat services. Workshop subjects include such diverse topics as “Jews of Japan,” “Impact of the Jewish Labor Movement,” “Yiddish Culture in Comic Strips” and many more. Most classes will be in English, but many will be conducted in Yiddish.
