The Bay Area–based Interfaith MDG Coalition is hosting a two-day conference, One Voice of Faith: A National Interfaith Conference on Global Poverty, April 20-21 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco.
Ruth Messinger, president of American Jewish World Service, will deliver the keynote address April 20.
Speakers represent Jewish, Islamic, Catholic and Episcopal faiths.
The Interfaith MDG Coalition started in 2008 in San Francisco. The group sees alleviating extreme poverty as a moral obligation of people of faith, and also critical to U.S. national security.
The conference costs $50 for adults and $25 for students. To register or for information, visit http://www.imdgc.org or call Monica Landeros at (415) 614-5569.
