The Islamic African nation of Mauritania has cut diplomatic ties with Israel.
Mauritania’s foreign minister, Naha Mint Mouknass, said March 20 that the country in northwest Africa had severed its relations in a  “complete and definitive way,” Reuters reported.
A year ago, the country closed Israel’s embassy in the capital city of Nouakchott and expelled Israel’s diplomats following Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza.
Mauritania had been one of only three Arab countries to have full diplomatic relations with Israel. — jta
