Los Angeles Lakers forward Ron Artest, one of the top defenders in the NBA, had the word “defense” inscribed in his hair in Hebrew, as well as in Japanese and Hindi.
Artest dyed his hair blonde and had the word “haganah” shaved and then dyed in purple in his hair for the March 7 game against the Orlando Magic in Florida. The Lakers’ team colors are gold and purple.
Artest reportedly asked his fans on Twitter if he had the proper translation. Originally he had “hahaganah,” but it was suggested that haganah would be better. — jta
