Israel warns Syria about nerve gas buildup

"I reiterate, however, that we want to talk with the Syrians. We want to find a formula for a solution. We have no intention of confrontation."
Levy noted that Israel has the means to deter any enemy "in ways beyond anything the other side can imagine."
He also noted, however, that it is preferable to advance toward peace by realistic negotiations, something Syria is still refusing to do.
Levy expressed hope that "in addition to this insane [arms] race, there is also a brain thinking what he should and what he shouldn't do.
"We are developing deterrence means, so that the other side understands it is not the only one which has control of such a severe thing, and that we too control things seven times worse."
