For years, she personally checked each set of answers. She was also a popular lecturer and for a time spoke regularly on the radio, in addition to lecturing at several universities.
Leibowitz wrote more than a dozen books on the Bible, including a popular series of commentary on each of the five books of the Torah.
In recognition of her research, she was awarded the Israel Prize for Education in 1957. She was also awarded the Samuel Rothberg prize in Jewish Education in 1986.
