JCCSF picks new executive director

The board of directors of the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco has appointed Barry Finestone as the organization’s new executive director.

Formerly the national associate director for Hadassah/Young Judaea and executive director of Isaac M. Wise Temple in Cincinnati, Firestone will assume his post in June. He replaces Judith Edelson, who has served as interim executive director since March 2009.

Finestone holds a bachelor’s degree in community education from Jordanhill College of Education in Glasgow, Scotland, his original home. He and his wife, Ellen, have three children.
