Michael Oren, Israel’s ambassador to the United States, will be the featured speaker Thursday, Feb. 11, at Stanford University’s Forum on Contemporary Europe, “The U.S./Israel Relationship Today: Historical and Personal Perspectives.”

Oren has a Ph.D. in Near East studies from Princeton University and has written several books, including “Six Days of War: June 1967 and the Making of the Modern Middle East” and a 2007 view of U.S. policy in the Middle East from 1776 to the present era, called “Power, Faith and Fantasy.” His wife, Sally, is a San Francisco native. 

The event takes place 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Bechtel Conference Center, 616 Serra St., Stanford.

RSVP is required and will be strictly enforced at check-in. The event is open to the public, but space is limited. The last day to RSVP is before 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7.
