A panel discussion on the future of human genome mapping will take place 6 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center in Palo Alto. Topics to be discussed include uses of genetic databases, biotech innovations to come out of the Human Genome Project, and curing diseases with new technologies. The Business Leadership Council of the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation is sponsoring the event.
Panelists include Michael Goldberg of Mohr Davidow Ventures; David Magnus, chair of Stanford’s program in Regenerative Medicine Sub-Committee on Bioethics and Conflict of Interest; Dr. Hugh Rienhoff, founder of MyDaughtersDNA.org; and Anne Wojcicki, co-founder of 23 and Me. Robert Blum, CEO of Cytokinetics and BLC Chair, will moderate.
The event begins 6 p.m. in the Koshland Theater at the Oshman Family JCC, 3921 Fabian Way, Palo Alto. Admission is $35 for federation donors, $60 for
