The 2010 Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature will be awarded to two authors, Sarah Abrevaya Stein, for her book “Plumes: Ostrich Feathers, Jews, and a Lost World of Global Commerce,” and Kenneth B. Moss for his book “Jewish Renaissance in the Russian Revolution.” The award ceremony will be held in Jerusalem on March 31.
Both authors are former graduate students at Stanford University. The two will share the top honor, with monies allocated for the winner and runner-up prizes combined into one award, with each author taking home $62,500.
Established in 2006, the annual Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature is administered under the auspices of the Jewish Book Council. For more information about the Jewish Book Council and the Rohr prize, visit www.jewishbookcouncil.org.
