The documentary film “Pizza in Auschwitz” will be screened twice in the Bay Area, beginning 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, 701 Mission St., San Francisco.
The second screening will take place 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 at the JCC East Bay, 1414 Walnut St., Berkeley.
The film follows Danny Chanoch, a survivor of five concentration camps — including Auschwitz — as he returns to Europe to retrace his childhood path with his two adult children. His ultimate goal is to spend the night in his old Auschwitz barracks surrounded by his children.
The short German and English film “Yessir, This is Kosher” will precede both screenings.
Tickets are $6 to $8. For details, visit http://www.sfjff.org.
