Diller foundation seeks service-minded teens for award

Follow j. on   and

The Helen Diller Family Foundation is looking for teen activists and volunteers to apply for its $36,000 Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Award. The awards recognize California teenagers who have distinguished themselves as leaders and have initiated community service projects that impact their communities in meaningful ways.

Any teacher, civic or religious leader, or non-family member may nominate a  California resident between 13 and 19 years old for the award. Teens also may nominate themselves. Nominees must self-identify as Jewish, though their service projects can benefit the general community.

The $36,000 award can be used however the recipient wishes. Most have used the funds toward their educations, developing their service projects or starting new endeavors.

Nominations are due Feb. 19 and are available online at http://www.sfjcf.org /diller/teenawards, by calling (415) 512-6432 or by emailing .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
