A son, Joshua Tzvion, was born to Philip and Stacy Kaplan of Newport Coast, California, on October 27, 2009. Joshua is the brother of Sarah Lila. Grandparents are Richard M. and Susan Kaplan of San Francisco, and Freddi Pakier of San Marcos. Philip was confirmed at Congregation Emanu-el. He serves as President, Jewish Federation of Orange County.
