Congregation Beth Sholom in January will start a support group for people whose lives have been affected by the mental illness of a friend, relative or partner.

The support group is an initiative of Nachamu (“Comfort”) Network, a program of the congregation that helps to support and connect those affected by mental illness.

Sessions will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays from Jan. 7 through Feb. 25 at Beth Sholom, 301 14th Ave., San Francisco.

Sessions will aim to provide a spiritual meeting place for empathy, problem-solving, connection, healing and hope.

The series is free; pre-registration is required. To register or for more information, call (415) 221-8736 ext. 101.
