Tickets are on sale for “Fiddler on the Roof,” starring Harvey Fierstein as Tevye, which will play at the Golden Gate Theatre beginning Jan. 27.

Part of SHN’s Best of Broadway series, the production will include Jerome Robbins’ original Broadway direction and choreography.

Original cast member Chaim Topol was set to portray Tevye, but producers announced last week that he backed out due to an injury. Fierstein, who played the role during a Broadway revival in 2004, has stepped up for the part.

“Fiddler on the Roof” will be at the Golden Gate Theatre, 1 Taylor St., S.F. from Jan. 27 through Feb. 21. Tickets are $30 to $99 and are available at http://www.shnsf.com or through Ticketmaster.
