Yuri Foreman, who is undefeated in 27 professional bouts, will challenge super welterweight champion Daniel Santos (32-3-1) for the World Boxing Association title Nov. 14 in Las Vegas. It is reportedly the first time an Israeli will fight for a world title.

Foreman, 29, is fervently religious and is studying to become an Orthodox rabbi. He was born in the city of Gomel in present-day Belarus, then part of the Soviet Union, and moved to Israel at 9. Foreman relocated to Brooklyn in 2001 to pursue his boxing career. — jta
