“City of Borders” is one of four films with Jewish themes in the Frameline 33 festival, which opened June 18 and runs through June 28 in San Francisco.
The feature-length New York documentary “Off and Running” follows a thriving African-American teenager who was raised Jewish by her adoptive lesbian parents. The 80-minute film screens at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, June 27 at the Roxie Theater.
The Israeli documentary “Seeds of Summer” is director Hen Lasker’s deeply personal look at lesbian attraction in the Israel Defense Forces. The one-hour film plays with “The Other War,” a 45-minute fiction piece that also considers the country’s war footing from a distaff angle. The double bill begins at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27 at the Victoria Theatre, 2961 16th St., San Francisco.
